In January of 2008 at 19 years old Cameron left for Marine Corps bootcamp at Parris Island, SC. After 13 grueling weeks, he was one of 5 Marines in his platoon to be promoted to Private First Class. He then attended MOS school at Corry Station, Pensacola, FL, learning the specific skills he would need to do his job for the Marine Corps. In December of 2008 he received orders to report to Camp Lejeune, NC. He was attached to the 2nd Radio Battalion, Charlie Co. where he received a promotion to Lance Corporal. He was promoted to Corporal in October of 2009. He married his girlfriend of 2 years, Brittani, in August of 2010.
Cameron was deployed to Afghanistan with 2nd Radio Battalion in January 2011, where he is currently serving.
